Smashing start to Boxing Day

Featured Replies

Looks like the rear window smashed all on its own, accordingg to Autoglass, they have fitted 150 rear windows to Roomster's in the last 6 months, given that the Roomster has relatively low numbers this suggests that this is a relatively common problem?

The damaged section at the top right and also towards the left at the top edge (that might be a trick of the photo) lead me to question their diagnosis, toughened glass does not break in two or more places at the same time; its very strong in the centre but exposed edges can be broken easily.

If it happened where the photo is taken I would suspect attempted forced entry, are there any scratches or chips to the paintwork beside where the piece is missing at the top right, witness marks from a tool?

Or is it shattered across the whole screen and bits outside of the sealant line have simply fallen out? Its difficult to see with the rain drops & my eyesight.

Did the glass implode inwards or outwards? If inwards the glass may have had a blow. Did the alarm sound?

Most of the glass ended up outside of the car, nothing triggered the security camera overnight and the alarm didn’t go off.

Anyway, thanks to Autoglass who came out on Tuesday and replaced the glass in less than an hour.
