Well that's great for you, but not much help I'm afraid

My GKU D600 won't power up at all from that USB-C connector

The spec sheet states that this requires 5V. 2.5A.  My Garmin dashcam, which works with the windscreen C  port draws 1.5A; so I suspect that your dashcam requires more power than the USB C port can deliver.

Thanks for this.  Skoda's spec says the port delivers 5V, 3A, so should be enough.  However I suspect you're right and I'll have to hardwire.

HI all, I got success with these items to make the rear mirror usb work with my dash cam.

This usb B to C converter:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BLMWH15B?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2

and managed to use a short usb B cable to usb C that I had lying around.

With the usb converter C connector coming out of the usb in the rear view mirror.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Hingerham
