Front interior dome lights

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Can someone please tell me what are the pin outs / wires on the connector. What I am trying to establish is what exactly triggering the light to turn on when the door is open. Is it a ground connection as it does not seem to be a live. Which one is the trigger wire

Thanks

they are all fed from the voltage control unit on a RED / Black wire PIN 2

The feed is supplied when the unit gets a signal from the door contact switch to earth when that particular the door is open, then the unit provides the earth PIN 1, when manually turning on the switch on the light contacts to earth PIN 3

There has to be a positive feed there for you to be able to turn it on manually (assuming your light has a switch)

I assume your lights had not "timed out" when you checked for voltage ?

Ok that is great. And makes sense. I previously fitted a rear interior light and had it wired to manually turn on and off but now have decided I would also like it to turn on when the doors open and was wondering what triggers it and thought it must be a ground signal.

just splice / copy the same feeds from the front light
