Self-levelling has failed. Read the codes to find out why/where.

Thanks for reply the suspension seems to be a little jiggery and noisy from rear

Just looked underneath and the self levelling rod has a kink in it could this be the problem

Why not just leave it in auto instead of keep turning it on and off?

Just habit when I pick daughter up from work leave engine running and turn lights off

The lights do they’re levelling when you start the car. If you’re starting  car then turn the light switch to auto you will have missed the “ dance”.

Try leaving switch in auto and starting the car when dark, just to check.

Seems fair, with the note that this will only tell you if the electro-mechanics are working, not if the eventual level selected is correct.

Do you not turn headlights back on on way home?

I believe I read somewhere that if Travel Mode is active the lights do not 'dance.' It may be worth checking this has not been inadvertently set via the muliifunction display, or has somehow activated itself by a 'glitch' of some sort.

Then if you put them into auto there is no need to turn them off when you reach home so you'll see the dance the next time you start after dark.

Have checked and they do work in auto as suggested thanks to everyone whose commented

  • 4 months later...

Also if there is an actual issue you will get a error message on the display and a indicator light on the display also
