Yes it can. I use it for mine. No special formatting required and it all works fine. Just tell your head unit you have a USB for music under media and away it should go seamlessly.

Tried it with some MP3 and FLAC audio and it works perfectly. It's nice that the USB stick is hidden under the arm rest.

Yep, it's actually a good location and keeps the USB-C free in the front.
