  1. I have MIB3 with Columbus and play mp3 files from the USB port in the centre storage box. The tracks always start again exactly from where I last played before switching off the car, so no problem there. However, I don’t arrange the music files in folders (just one big blob of mp3 files on the USB) and I have filled the artist and album fields on my home computer, so maybe that allows the MIB3 system to remember where it was when I switched off the car?
  2. Yes, hair dryer to soften the adhesive and then a plastic pry tool (not dental floss) to gently and carefully lift the old badge off.
  3. Definitely looks better and matches the black badges at the rear. Should have been standard on Sportline.
  4. It’s now a quick simple software fix at the dealer, no more changing out the steering wheel. Took all of 20 minutes start to finish (barely had time to finish the coffee the dealer offered me).
  5. Agree, I've been looking in slow time and coming to the came conclusion. I find the latest Mk4 Superb to be more of a boring, rounded and anonymous design than the previous edge-ier Mk3, though I will await the Sportline version of the Mk4 - if it ever appears. Similarly, there's nothing exciting in the drivetrains and the engine is going backwards in power compared to the MK3's 206/280. I suspect I will be keeping my Mk3 for a while yet.
  6. For post-2020 vehicles is the camera/TSR protected by SFD? ie. if you get SFD access, does that mean the camera can be activated for TSR?
  7. As a slightly different approach you could fit after market tips.
  8. Yes, I did receive the new front springs from Eibach and had them fitted. Part number: F11-85-043-02-FA As listed in a post above, they are designed for the Audi Q2, but Eibach was confident they would also work well with the Superb, which they do. They result in a slightly larger tyre-to-guard gap compared to the rears (see image), but it doesn't offend me. And to my eye anyway, it gives the car a more level overall stance than it otherwise would have. I also haven't scraped the front spoiler on gutters and driveways since having these fitted😉 I've been very happy with the Eibach springs overall, especially when matched with an uprated rear sway bar.
  9. Sound is very subjective, and the MIB 2.5 Canton is certainly a clear improvement over the standard non-Canton system. However, to my ears, and having played the same music through both an MIB 2.5 Canton and MIB 3 Canton, the MIB 3 is a clear winner. The additional equaliser controls are useful, and the sound has a richer and more immersive feel. I also think the subwoofer is better integrated into the soundscape. It would appear that DSP was tweaked between MIB 2 and 3. Unfortunately I can’t say why the artist and album art aren’t displaying in the virtual cockpit on yours, as I’ve always have used a USB at 320kbps to connect for music. I remember the track information would display correctly in the VC in my 2019 MIB 2.5 without a problem (and does on the current MIB 3), but from a USB, as I said. Maybe check the way track data is stored on your phone, as the system maybe unable to extract it to display?
  10. Yes, thinking back to my 2019 vehicle and noting yours is 2020, I would agree that your Canton is an MIB 2.5 version. As a 2020 car, I suspect yours is an early facelift vehicle and they hadn’t quite introduced MIB 3 when it rolled down the production line. So not a software fix unfortunately. My thoughts are your options are limited to either approaching the dealer for the pricing on a new MIB 3 infotainment unit (and it may possibly require a new DSP/amp etc under seat as well), which might be quite expensive. Or try and find a written off/totalled car example of an MIB 3 system, which is a pretty hit and miss option.
  11. The facelift Superb has the full Canton system with sub and the extra equaliser toggles. Having had a both pre-facelift Superb with Canton (2019 with MIB 2.5) and a now a facelift version with Canton (2021 MIB3), I can say that the MIB 3 version of Canton sounds far better. The sound is fuller and richer. While the specs and speakers would seem to be the same between the two, it feels like the DSP and amp have been tweaked with the facelift. I was never highly impressed with the sound of the pre-facelift Canton, whereas I have been very pleasantly surprised with facelift version. It’s now one of the best OEM systems at this price point I have heard.
  12. Yep, my mistake. So correction: it’s 11 litres/100km or 25 mpg. I thought it was set on long term average but it was set on most recent trip 🙄.
  13. I average around 9 litres/100 km or 32 mpg, but it’s almost exclusively city driving and I’m probably not the most economical on the throttle 😉.
  14. I've had a BMS JB1 fitted for the last couple of years. Similar story, new vehicle at the time and didn't want to re-map the ECU. The JB1 has been excellent, running on the standard boost map that comes with it. Mid range boost especially is very strong, and it has been completely reliable. For something that is almost half the price of an ECU re-map, delivers around 90+% of the performance of a Stage 1 re-map, and I can remove in around 30 minutes or less if I need to, I've been very happy with it.
  15. So I fitted a Hard Race front strut brace a week or so ago. I repainted the blue to a stainless steel metallic as the blue offended my OCD on an otherwise grey and black vehicle! The bar fitted well-ish - it is very snug against the windscreen washer bottle on the left side (as you face it from the front of the engine bay). I had to adjust the washer bottle a fraction to get it all to fit. You will absolutely need a wiper arm removal tool as my wiper arms really didn’t want to come off otherwise. I know JR managed to fit the brace without removing the wipers, and snaps to him for achieving that, but I definitely needed to the whole area clear. How does it drive? Well, tbh the change seems very minor and certainly not night-and-day like after fitting the rear sway bar, which made a massive improvement to handling. I also fitted a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres a couple of days later, which are definitely cut above the OEM Pirelli P7’s, but probably mask any small improvement from the front strut brace. Overall, I would recommend the front strut brace, but well down the list after springs, rear sway bar and good tyres first.
