Variable Boot Floor

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m just replacing my MK II Octavia Estate (2012) for a MK III one (2019). I have the variable boot floor in the old one and need one in the new car for a dog crate so the doors can open. For the existing one the rails are covered in material. From the online user’s manual I can see the new ones appear to be plastic and more high-tech with upper and lower positions. Does anyone know if the old rails will correctly attach, and the old floor will fit the new car please? The old floor is 96.5 cm wide. The front edge is curved, 103.5 cm at the edges and 107.5 cm in the centre.

Thanks,

James

I have had exactly the same issue moving from a MKII. Suggest you take your crate and try it in the new car in both the upper and lower position. I took my crate to a Skoda dealer and asked them if i could try it out (no need to tell them you have already bought a new car. They were cooperative as were BMW, Volvo, Audi, Seat and Peugeot, Mazda did not help😁.

My crate fits in the MKIII and I find the new floor arrangement quite good.

Thanks for the response. The crate (a Lintran dog box) will fit. On their site you tell them what car you have and it tells you which box you need. Fortunately, the answer is the same for both the MKII and MKIII.  I am now after knowing more about the compatibility of the variable boot floor and rails.

From memory I really doubt you could put the MKII rails and floor in a MKIII, I am happy to be corrected. But not sure why you would want to do that, have seen the MKIII floor in it's upper and lower position up close? I could send you pics if it would help.

Why would you want to do that? -  Because a MK1 variofloor can be had for peanuts and it sounds like the OP already has a MK2 set, of course you can fit them in with a little bit of DIY, they are made of wood.
