ACC and brake lights

Featured Replies

I ‘tested’ the ACC braking today, coming down from about 40mph to rest, and it made me wonder if the ACC braking triggers the brake lights.  And if so, at what point - gentle slowing down, or only when carrying out rapid deceleration?

I know my brake lights come on when using ACC but never took much notice whether it was under gentle or rapid deceleration. At night time I can see the brake light coming on when looking in the rear mirror.
