Skoda yeti move to the right or to the left

Featured Replies

Hello. I have a Skoda yeti 2010 1.2 petrol FWD 100.000 miles. As I was driving in m1  at around 60 mph  the car moved to the left and after some time it moved to the right by the steering wheel was steady and the car was not shaking. I went to a tyre shop to chech for an alignment or worn tyres and they told me everything seems fine but maybe is the driveshaft or the gearbox . I went to a mechanic and he said he can't see something. But after the car was doing it again and apparently I don't know what is it. So does anybody had the same experience and can anyone help me please? Thank you

Welcome.

How long have you had the car and is this a new issue.

What tyres are on the car and what pressure are they at?      Was it the Tracking that was checked or 4 wheel alignment?

I have for 6 months now and yes is the new issue. The problem is not the tyres or the alignment because it was checked . It seems to be something mechanical and I'm asking if anybody had a similar problem before and what is the fix for that. Thank you

Road Camber?

@dimitrit. I read what you posted.  So was it a 4 wheel alignment check done by someone actually trained to know what they were doing.   Just curious, but what are the tyres that are ok, size and make?    Did the mechanic take the car out for a drive?

There are some tyres that even with good tread still just become horrible with age.

Then there is tyre pressure and weather conditions / cold where some older or even newer Summer / ECO tyres are horrible.

I'm doing the same road every day so I don't think so it's the road camber. The mechanic today said that the right hand side drive shaft is worn after he checked today in the morning.propably a beating as well

The drive shaft being or showing wear would not normally do that, (moved to the left and after some time it moved to the right)

I would go for tyre pressures first, then, maybe a suspect tyre problem. But this is all guess work , as not seeing or driving your car.

Alternatively, if the Rear tyres are good, change the Fronts to the rear, & rears to front.

That should rule out any tyre problem.

Of course, getting a proper 4 wheel alignment check would also help.

What work was done to the car immediately before the problem manifested?

Thank you everyone for answering me and trying to help. I did Water pump

I find lines or repairs on the road will cause my motorcycle to pull to one side or the other, also strong side winds will have the same effect.
