I have a Skoda Octavia mk 2 diesel 19 cc . My engine seems to ping when accelerating? Is this a problem that can be recovered.

@Wallyp   Is it making a pinging noise from the engine or from the dash,

or do you mean it is 'pinking' like a petrol engine might?

It's a 19ltr skoda  TDI and pings like a petrol car, only does it when accelerating?
