DPF Sensor Failure - Code P246E

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon,

I recently had the DPF warning light come on and the car subsequently went into limp mode.

I took it to my local garage and the following diagnostic code appeared:

Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 Bank 1 - electrical malfunction P246E intermittent

This showed twice, I can only assume it was the car repeating the same error?

I spoke to the local Skoda garage to source the part required and basically was told I would need to have another diagnostic check for £60 and then I would potentially need all three sensors replaced at £185 each before labour added on top.

My local garage basically said the work is simple enough (and much cheaper) to do as long as I can get the correct part.

Has anyone had the same issue and do they know which part I need to purchase? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Given the sound of the code I'd check for a wiring issue before buying parts.
