Looking to get a decat on my mk1 fabia vrs, anybody know what brands to get or stay away from and let me know that would be great.

Since it won't make any difference to anything then you can just buy one of those cheapies off ebay, I remember when people on here were spending hundreds and hundreds on Milltec stuff that made no difference to anything but the noise it made.

Thankyou I have read alot of mixed things online some people saying it makes a difference and come saying it dose not. Don't really want to spend hundreds on a mod that's not going to gain anything

Decats can help petrol engines make more power but make no difference to turbodiesels unless pretty heavily tuned.

Yeah that's what I heard, just getting it to improve the sound so no point splashing cash on a expensive one.

It'll still sound like a tractor but it might be a little bit louder.

 

I have NEVER heard a diesel engine that sounded good, they don't rev high enough and since there's no throttle you don't get any turbo noises either.

I have to disagree I got a back box delete on mine and I can hear the turbo quite abit

I mean you don't get the petrol rally car sounds that VRS owners desperately want, you'll get the whoosh and the whistle of course until your turbo breaks.

De-cat is also an MOT fail these days as if fitted as O/E they have to be present.

As said by others no point on a TD unless you've gone into Darkside Developments with a big wad of cash and asked them to fit everything from the performance upgrade packages available.

Pointless “performance” mod. Only thing that will make a noticeable difference to performance is a remap.
