Marsie's bargain bucket VRS

Featured Replies

Hi all, I took this VRS in px for my old VW transporter on Sunday . The plan was to sell it straight on but I have already grown attached to it so it will be staying for a while at least.

Its in reasonable condition for an 11 year old 120k mile car but the paint work looked like it had been polished with a cactus🙄. So first days job was to spend a few hours machine polishing it touching up stone chips etc.

It is now looking much better although it will need a lot more TLC to get it to a respectable standard

One job I noticed while valeting the car was the chrome grill surround was badly chipped and discoloured so today I stripped the grill and painted the surround in deep black pearl

Just waiting for my new grill badge to arrive now so it has a temporary grill badge. Another job done was to remove the CARSHOP advertising from the botton of the number plates

Tomorrows job is to sort the swirl flap motor (one previous owner or garage has stuffed tissue paper in the hole where the engine warning LED is to cover the fault🤣)

Trying to fit it in between paying customers work 🤪

Grill looks miles better and I would have done the same with the plate - I remove all advertising from the supplying garage when I get a car and the plates can look really bad.

Did you give it a machine polish?

Yes but it needs doing again when I have a bit more time. I don't get paid for advertising so it all comes off 🤣

Another job done today, git the inlet manifold off to fit the darkside swirl flap mod. Upto now no engine warning light 😎
