Skoda fabia vRS 2011 rear passenger window has a life of its own.

I suspect I posted this in the wrong forum. So I hope for a better response here.

Hi guys and greetings from a sunny Sweden!

Last year mid January I bought myself a great little hatchback, a Skoda fabia vrs on a bargain. The previous owner was afraid that the cave engine was to implode on him.

I however got another problem with it. The rear passenger window is spooky. I have done the rewiring in the driver door , soldered and strengthened, and all cables are intact. I however can’t seem to control the rear passenger window from the driver door.

Ones in 10 starts, when I turn the ignition on, the rear window opens automatically. I can only close it using the elevator on the rear passenger door. It drives me nuts. The fuses are good.

I hope I posted this in the correct forum. This is my first post. I have been reading up on other topics but could not find a specific answer to my question.

Would be delighted to see if any of you have a solution for this.

Thanks again!

If your 100% happy with door wiring...............then

could be as simple as a sticking switch.

You could do a process of elimination by disconnecting the switch on the door itself, if it still does it then the signal is def coming from the drivers door switch, so maybe time for a new one of those.

I localised the problem by locking and unlocking the car whilst running - on the button in front of the automatic shift. The window rolls down when I press the open button. Somehow related to that and not the driver door.

The window functions are ALL related / connected through the drivers door control unit, this is also the same for the central locking as the drivers door control is the master.

"if" the rear passenger window operates normally through the switch on that door, then the problem lies with door wiring OR switch OR control unit at the drivers door.

Cheers!

The rear window cannot be operated via the drivers door and has to be raised and lowered at the rear passenger door.

However, I can lock the function to raise and lower the window. That still works.

I have checked the wires and they are all intact.

Could the problem be in the wiring to the rear passenger door?

I think the cheapest option would be to buy a new switch as they are cheap. Or find someone close to you with a Fabia to try their switch as it will only take 10 mins to suss out if it is the switch or not at least then you know you are heading in the right direction.
