Faulty flasher lamps?

Featured Replies

My Father's Octy (Non-vRS) has a fautly flasher lamps, they work as in one flash may be two than pack up........same result with the hazard switch........any idea's?

Mike

Sounds like the flasher relay which is intergrated into the 4 way flasher switch. Do a search on this and you will find a lot of posts. I think they cost around £20-25.

It is an easy DIY job.

ageed just pop off the surround of the hazard swith you will need a small flat blade screwey, then use the screw driver to lever the hazard switch out unplug it fit new switch and slide it back in until it clicks then pop the

surround back on:thumbup:

I am lost a little here, you say the hazard light switch is to blame for the normal flashers not working?

Mike

Yes the switch houses the flasher relay in control of indictors and 4 way flashers

Hi Mike

As they have said , it is the hazzard switch.

The relay for the indicators and the hazzards are mounted inside the switch.

It is a common fault.

Easy diy job as they have said.

The switch though is a Skoda part only.

There is an uprated switch so go for that one as it will last longer.

£25.00 ish from a dealer as it is a dealer part only

My thanks to all.

Hi Sarah, hows the new job going?

Mike

Yes the indicator relay in part of the hazard switch assembly.

Uprated part will sound different to the original one, which is how you will tell you got it.

and it should work properly as well ;-)

My thanks to all.

Hi Mike

The new job is great.

I have always enjoyed this line of work and it is a more relaxed atmosphere.

Good fun.

Busy but good.

Yes it will.

It should last longer too.
