Hi I'm new to this site. I have skoda octavia II vRS 2.0 TDI 170HP 2006/2007. Today on my way to work I had an engine stop, tried to start the car but the car did not start. I used Delphi daignose to read ECU then I got fault code P1040 and P2146, tried to delete the faultcodes then I got faultcode P1517. Does anyone have experience with this faulty? Hope someone can help me with this and thanks :)

From initial searches on internet it's likely you have a bad electrical connection somewhere, unsurprising for a 15 year old car in your climate.

An auto-electrician should be able to diagnose and fix the fault fairly easily.

Yes it's right but it's hard to find a car electrician who can help here in my area. do you have any idea what it might be? Do you have a tip that can help with troubleshooting?

If you want to DIY you'll need to read many of the internet posts related to the VAG codes you mentioned and get a general idea of the causes and hopefully fixes, you'll also need a wiring diagram for your car, a basic DMM and possibly a 12v bulb and some wire.
