Spare Wheel for SE

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

A local seller on FB market place is offering a Karoq spare wheel, full polystyrene surround with tools, and additional carpet for £120.

The seller tells me the spare's size is 215/60 16".

The size of my SE 5 spoke alloy is 215/55 17".

Therefore the overall diameter difference is 3mm.

Apparently the wheel lifts the height of the boot floor to more or less level with the opening.

Two questions:

1. Suitable size?

2. Good value?

Thanks,

Sounds like a good price.

Size is fine for a temporary spare but you still need to reduce your speed if fitted with an odd one out tyre / tread / compound and wheel.

If your boot was full and you needed to fit the spare you would be putting in the spare tyre well the wheel that came off so as well to have a full size spare carried.

Lot less than buying new and is all the bits you would have got direct from Skoda.

If your car has varioflex seats it theoretically won’t fit as obstructs the release handles to fold the seats forward. You can though carefully cut slots in the floor raising surround to allow clearance and access to the handles. I had to do that when I added the spare wheel to my car.

I presume you have a 2wd as this kit won’t fit a 4wd though. You can only have a space saver with 4wd and this same surround kit.

You can fit the alternate space saver wheel to a 2wd car without the floor raising kit?

Thanks, Ken. I'll look at the space saver option too. I only have an SE model so no varioflex access issues. Thanks.
