Congestion and Lane Guidance in MIB3

Featured Replies

I've just complete my first long trip away in my Karoq facelift. I am really struggling to find some of the features on the new Amundsen MIB3. On my previous MIB2 unit, if I came across a traffic jam or a closed road, I touched the route button at the bottom left hand corner and a menu popped up, one of the options being Congestion Ahead. Once I selected this it would ask how many miles the congestion was over and it calculated a new route. When the satnav directed me up a closed road I couldn't find this function. I turned off and the satnav kept trying to direct me back to the closed road.

The second problem I had is with the Lane Guidance. On the MIB2 unit, when approaching a multi-lane junction, it showed a representation of the lanes available with arrows and crosses to show which lanes to use for my route. On the MIB3 unit it just shows a rather unhelpful keep left/right symbol with no indication of how many lanes are available to each direction.

The manual was no help so I asked the dealer. He spent a good ten minutes searching before admitting defeat. I don't know if I'm missing something.
