My Octavia III from 12/13 sometimes has the auto wipers not working, ie. they revert to normal intermittent wiping when I put the stalk in INT. I have searched for anything similar, but I have not found anything.

The wipers usually function as intended with the 'automatic wiping in rain' option selected in the headunit, but sometimes when I start the car, the wipers will only work in normal intermittent mode, not rain sensing auto. I don't have access to a scanning tool, but I was wondering if this is normal behaviour, if there is some condition that inhibits the rain sensor that I'm not aware of?

It might be down to the combined sensor that is behind the rear view mirror. Mine failed after 5yrs, but that was not sensing light. 2014 vrs. 5Q0955547B
