Production codes??

Featured Replies

There used to be a label stuck in the car somewhere with them on. Anyone any idea where to find said label?

There might have only been around 40 of the build codes on that white label. This wasn't all the build codes, as there might have been around 180 build codes in total.

So you might have got the build code for the front or rear shock absorbers, but not both. And you might have got the build code for the front or rear brakes, but not both. So it's best to get a copy of all the build codes for your car's VIN number.

The white build codes label (with only some of the build codes) was stuck under the carpet in the spare wheel well area.

I'm looking for the codes to identify the dsg gearbox. I keep my cars a long time and self service and need the code so I can order the correct parts for the gearbox/Haldex service. Its 5 years old next year and now on 37k miles, I want to service it at 40000 miles and also do the belts when the time comes.

You can get the build codes from "erwin skoda" but they charge 7 Euros for 1 hour's access, or there's an ebay seller that charges about 3 Euros for the build codes. Search "vin skoda decoder" on ebay to find the listing.

Is it possible the codes are stamped on the gearbox? If not, would the filter for the Haldex be the same as other gearboxes? I think it should have been done at 30k miles but I have my doubts. G.

The gearbox code yes, but you won't be seeing all of the PR Codes.

You are better to get the erWin access and get your PR Codes/Recalls outstanding/wiring diagrams repair information for the 7 Euro or rather than 3 Euro just for the codes.
