Hi guys,

 

just picked up a new Kodiaq Sportline that a dealer had in stock and drove it away today. 
 

i thought the USB-C port in the rear view mirror was a standard option but after purchasing a dash cam I realised the port isn’t actually there (see picture).

 

Im assuming this isn’t just a cover, could anyone confirm if this is easy to retrofit?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a cover, and the wires in the wiring loom to it are missing. I wish Skoda would make it standard, instead trying to save a few quid by making it an option.

What year came this option?

Last year, with the facelift.

Does anyone know how to take the cover off gently so I can check if the wiring behind is present?

Available on the MY21 model. I spec'ed it but a spec/options reshuffle mid-order meant I had to remove it or add one of the expensive driver 'assist' packages. The conclusion was that the necessary wiring would only be fitted to support the USB-C socket if the camera or some other component from the 'assist' package was already being installed.
