Auto Octavia cutting out , losing power and finding it hard to start after

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been having this sporadic issue with my 6 year old octavia KM 180,000.

The issue seems to only occur when going slow in traffic etc. The automatic car will conk out and display 'Start car Manually' and then it will display a glow plug light , stabilisation light and tyre pressure light and sometimes an orange cruise control light.

Sometimes the car will then start ok but others it seems to struggle. I have had the car diagnosed when this first occurred and the errors showing was the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. These have since been replaced but the issue has just occurred again.

Anyone experience this before? I am going to bring it to a main dealer but just thought I would see if anyone has experienced this.

Thanks

Welcome.

Sounds like you might have a battery / terminal / connection issue.

To give some idea,

what engine have you, a 1.6 TDI or a 2.0 TDI.  So a Dry Clutch or wet clutch DSG?
