MIB2 Infotainment won’t update

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m sure this has been covered previously so please forgive me if so.

I’m having a nightmare trying to update my new Superb to the latest infotainment firmware.

I’ve extracted the zip file from the Skoda portal and put the files from the MIB2 into the root folder of the FAT32-formatted microsd which is in an SD card adaptor.

I enter service mode and plug in the SD card. It then says update available and lists loads of stuff from DVD through to  SpeechResVDE (most have N/A next to them and some, like Truffles, have ERR alongside).

NavDB has the letter F next to it.

The start button at the top of this list is greyed out.

Any ideas? I’m losing my mind slightly!!

Thanks!

Are you sure it's actually a firmware?

Got a picture of the files on the SD Card?

What about the original filename of what you downloaded.

Odds are you downloaded a map update.

Sorry I mean map update.

Is that a MAC?

Because they are well known for 'adding' files to external drives, borking the maps!

Thanks. Yes it is a Mac so I’ll see if I can find a windows machine owner to help. I’m not paying £30 for Clean my Mac!

Also, with the nav/infotainment update, are new (hidden) welcome screens included does anyone know? I want to use Carista to change it to a Sportline screen, but the latter isn’t available on my current version of infotainment software (only Scout, L&K, VrS)

Yeah getting a PC for this task might be your fastest bet.

2 things that can cause this;

Either the wrong firmware/update

Using a mac...

U don't need to enter into Service mode to do the map updates.

Simply insert the SD-Card and go to Navigation settings and trigger the update from there.
