Dab radio

Featured Replies

Dab has stopped working, I'm assuming the aerial has come loose, am I right in thinking its somewhere on the rear window as I can't see it anywhere

That is a bit of an assumption to make, the antenna is built into the glass on the rear of the vehicle, it then goes through a frequency splitter and through a fakra cable to the radio where it is decoded. The aerial just coming loose isnt really an option. Youll need to get the car plugged it and checked for any fault codes, if its an open circuit on one of the two seperate dab circuits then youll have to eliminate the working parts and what is shorted. Could also be faulty components.

There's some good advice above - but if you're doing any sort of visual inspection, then the aerial for the hatchback is in the rear screen. However, for the estate, it's in the rear-most side window (DAB is left hand side of the vehicle, which is the nearside / passenger side on a RHD car, IIRC)

There is a tpi regarding loose/damaged fakra connectors. The fix being to bend the outer metal connectors slightly to make a better connection 🤔

Thats an interesting one, you got the tpi number? Id love to read up on what they find a cause of it being.

2049697/6 is about the GPS antenna but I imagine similar damage could occur to a dab connector.
