Heater fan (blower)

Featured Replies

Fan has stopped working. I have got the fan out and it's very stiff to turn. Is it possible to strip these motors down to try and free off the bearings? Tried a topic search, but couldn't see anything there. Thanks.

Probably just dry bushes and/or worn brushes.

I think so too, but not sure how to get to the bushes and bearings; it looks like a sealed unit. How do you access the bushes?

I can't recall how the blower housing is constructed but I'm sure others have opened and repaired theirs.

You could always dump a load of WD-40 or similar in and see if it frees off, excess can be poured out, will evaporate and the smell will dissipate after a few days.
