Iffy Start button

Featured Replies

One of first Kodiaq in the Uk - 2017 - engine start button had recently become lazy and on occasions required 2-3 pushes to work. This concerned me as it could refuse to start anywhere any time. At service asked them to investigate.
Nothing showed on diagnostics, so I told them to put new button on. 110 quid later here’s the old one for your info. 4 rubber sprung conductors are pushed down onto four connectors - plenty of scope for dirt film to build up. The service receptionist admitted that they have had to replace “several”.
Next time I’ll take switch apart ant and give squirt of cleaner.

Yep I understand this is a common problem as we had ours was replaced when we bought it S/H as part of the pre sale checks.

Interesting to see the inside though...

I will check in a bit on ETKA to see if original part has been "dropped" that usually tells you what you need to know.

One switch was replaced twice, other possible fitted seems more reliable.

Unsure which you have.
