USB port

Featured Replies

Hi,

How easy is it to replace a USB port on a 2018 superb? Apple car play doesn’t work via usb phone will only charge. Have tried everything else that has been suggested so am guessing either USB port needs replacing or will a update for the info system work?

cheers

Has CarPlay been enabled on the infotainment system?

My 2016 Octavia L&K had the option shown when scrolling through the MENU options but when clicked it said that it needed to be enabled by means of a FEC/SWaP code. Just had that done by a guy in Redditch (cheaper and quicker than going to the local Skoda dealer) and now able to use CarPlay.

Yes I presume it has as was working then just stopped working intermittently then stopped completely.

To remove the USB port does seem a fair old job.  Have to tried another lead already?  Electrical contact spray?

Yep, tried several different leads all the same.

I could send a copy of the instructions, but it's a fair job to perform, unless you're feeling brave.

Is it not just a pop out and replace job?

Take a picture if you can then for me, it didn't appear to be, but it's not clear in the instructions sadly.

Thanks, perhaps you can pry it out?

In the documents it has no separate way to remove on it's own, just taking out a large portion of the interior.

EDIT: I did check the part numbers of the USB connection, all I will say is make sure to order the part with your VIN as the USB connector has many different sizes (at the back end)

Where in the menu is this option?

Checked it and nothing saying it’s not enabled, loads of codes listed

There are 2 lists - one for those active, and one for those compatible. If it's not in the active list then it's not enabled.

There are two lists. One supported which has no codes listed and one installed which has several codes listed
