Drive by wire throttle noise

Featured Replies

Hello all,

When I am going downhill or decelerating (foot off gas) in my new 06 1.4 16v Combi there is a decending in pitch whistling noise every few seconds. It sounds like a turbo spooling down quickly. It does this only during the first few miles of driving. Is this something to do with the throttle control?

Thanks,

NR

It's not the turbo...

My 1.4 8v sounds exactly the same between 5-6k Revs, especially if you release the throttle at those speeds. It actually sounds rather nice

Lol, I wish there was a turbo... and AWD while were at it.

The "Furby (ahem) Quattro" or would it be 4motion?

Hmm, forced induction 1.4 16v? Has anyone ever done that? I would imagine the motor is too weak for that.

I wish I knew what that sound was.... It repeats itself every couple seconds so it is not cool like a turbo spooling down.
