Should i LPG?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a Skoda Fabia 2002. (Gasoline) I am thinking to by a LPG system and install it to my car in order to use gasoline and LPG.. it will be an hybrid car. What are the pros and the cons? Should i do this? may this cause any harm to my motor o anything?

Thanks.

P.s.: Here in my country (D.R.) are companies importing, selling and installing those systems just because our gasoline `s cost is near the sky.

D.R? dominican republic?

LPG is not harmful. In fact I think technically its more friendly for the environment than petrol. Anyway - the costs are: buying a tank, fitting and setting up. Over here this can cost in the region of £1500 - £2000. The saving? Cheaper fuel, but you will have to do a lot of miles to make it worthwhile - I should on D.R you don't do a lot of miles?

Its all a cost / benefit exercise - work out the install cost, then see how long you get that back with the cheaper fuel - might take 1 year, might take 5. Hard to tell.

I thought you meant US $$

Over here lpg is half the price, but if its 1/3 the price, then the savings are greater and you should recoup the cost of the gas installation a bit quicker.
