Featured Replies

Hello!

I scan my car with vcds and get module 5F Fault Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error.

1 Fault Found:

1556 - Internal Control Module Memory Check Sum Error
          B2000 87 [009] - Missing Message
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00000001
                    Fault Priority: 6
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 17
                    Mileage: 278505 km
                    Date: 2022.09.21
                    Time: 22:23:29

                    Voltage terminal 30: 14.5 V

What could be the cause for that and how can I clean it? If I try clean the faults, it will come back immediately.

with kind regards

Kristjan

Have you recently updated the firmware?

I only updated the Infotainment bluetooth firmware from Skoda homepage. Other than that - no. However this is preowned car and new to me.

Can you hold down your menu/setup button to enter engineering menu.

Try to look at update versions, and post back results.

Well, actually I have it posted already here but under different topic:

Ah the no update firmware.

You might be stuck sadly as there is no way to load anything to assist.

It will probably keep working as is if you're very lucky.

Well yea, it does not bother me so much, but there is no way to get rid of this fault, isn't it? If so, I try to just forget it, as there are no anomalies in the car's or infotainment functions.

There's another fault logged with VCDS during a firmware update, as SVM has not be confirmed with factory.

It doesn't affect the unit.

Checksum, might cause a future issue, but unclear.

Could that also mean, that infotainment unit was changed in this car?

Not an indicator in my book.

Bad memory is more than a likely, best to just keep using until it keels over one day.
