Window tinting

Featured Replies

I'm having some tints applied this week and wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts or experiences of 20% vs 35% tints.

I'm pretty sure I'll go for 35 as I just want a bit of class and refinement added, I don't want it to look modified or too extreme. It's a black estate with black interior.

I have looked through 20 or so other threads on the subject, but no mention of how dark others have gone or recommend. (rear windows and boot only by the way).

What tint has the car got already that you are adding too.

Surely the Tinting operative  showing you what they can offer before doing the job will be the best way of knowing what you think is right.

Well it hasn't got sunset glass or anything like that. It's 'untinted' all round, but I'm not sure if that is 70% out of the factory?

You mean look at some of his work? I might pop in the day before. Annoying on the day I'm dropping the car off before he starts, as I need to head to work, so I'm not too sure...

35% is safer I think, but as its a black car with lots of large windows, I could regret not going darker. I doubt it, but would be interesting if anyone has relevant experience.

I mean hold a sample against the glass and you sit in your car and look back or in the interior mirror, and maybe with the workshop light turned off.

Will see what I can do, I did actually pay a couple of quid to get some samples sent to my house, but I'll bet they turn up a day late!
