Sdxc memory card and mp3 music

Featured Replies

Hi all can someone help me with this query.

I have recently brought the mk3 octavia 2016 plate. I enjoy driving it. The issue i have is that i have stored music as mp3 format on my sdxc memory card. When i connect the sdxc adaptor in.my skoda it only plays few music files and states not recognize for the others. The music was dowloaded via youtube.i have checked few of the music files that arnt playing and they are all.mp3 so it should play. The music plays on.the windows media player on the laptop.

Can someone help? Do i need to select something in the multimedia menu to allow it to play? Is the sdxc card causing errors?

Yashin, the format doesn't matter if the encoder used to create an MP3 isn't compatible. Make a note of what songs work and do some research into the differences. I would doubt its the card as its it working for some. Could also be a minimum bit rate it has to use.

Hi dooge thankyou for your reply. If your saying that if the encoder used is not compatible, however, all the songs that i have downloaded to mp3 format are from youtube hence they should all work as the source and method are both the same. I will look into the difference between the ones that are working and the one that arnt working.

Thankyou

I'm not 100% sure how downloads from YouTube work, I know people upload in multiple formats to YouTube so do you get out what is put in, if you see what I mean? Just because you use the same downloading software are you getting different encoded MP3 formats?

Hi dodge ..i have used Ytmp3 to download songs from youtube to mp3. I have a sdxc 128gb card with adaptor. I have been told that the 128gb card might be too big ...do you know what the max card size is. The card reader which i use to connect to laptop stores music as exfat. All the tracks have the .mp3 extention and are small size so they should all play. I still dont know have a clue to whats wrong - i have deleted the tracks and downloaded again to see what happens but still doesnt play.

I used a 256GB SDXC card in my previous Octavia with a MIB1 Amundsen.

Did you have issues with the card or the playlist on the card. How did you format the card to play the tracks

You should take a picture of your radio.

If possible, hold down menu/setup key for 10 seconds and it will tell you a value for Software Train (we can locate update, and also we can tell you what unit you have)

exFAT is fine for the format on the card

Nope, same size card in adapter in exFAT format, and same firmware 0253 working fine here.
