2017 Scout Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Hello

After my inro post, this is my 1st thread start, so bear with me if I have entered the wrong section of the forum or anything heinous.

2nd hand Scout diesel, with original 2017 sat nave maps.

I've just updated the maps to the latest version downloadable from the Skoda official area and as far as I can see they work. One aspect I was hoping the download would help with is speed of response from the nav messages and map scrolling. I haven't yet tested but don't hold much hope, but any comments.

I have just come back from 3.5k miles of driving in Europe where the system worked but was so slow at issuing its messages & map update it would say 'turn next left' for example so slowly, until we got used to sort of ignoring it, we would turn down the road before the one we should have.

Is this slow response a known issue? Any fix?

Thanks for reading

I've never tried the onboard nav but a firmware update might help.

Add a picture of your SW train to this thread and I'm sure someone will provide an update if appliable:

Thanks for the response.

I've just returned from the dealership where I booked in an early service. Luckily for me the head service person was there and enjoyed talking about my Scout experiences and the few woes.  He jumped on the dealer info system and found a known remedy, which is to recalibrate the system.

I'll let you know when it's been fixed

You may wish to find out your software train now to check what is loaded.

Then at least that's another choice for you.

Thanks. I'll get them to check versions as well as recalibrate.
