Hi all. 

 

I'm in need of a gearbox for my 1.9D pickup. I'm located in Ireland and having a tough time tracking one down. Any help appreciated.

Look for a VAG fitted with the non-turbo SDi engine; Not sure about Audis, but Seats or VWs will work as well as Skodas.

A VAG one won't fit unfortunately, they're a Skoda box originating back from before Skoda were part of VAG. The driveshafts push into the box on splines rather than bolt onto output cups like a VW.

In theory, 1.6 AEE gearbox should be usable, too - it is shorter than the original, but still in range suitable for a diesel (around 2200RPM @90km/h)
