CanBus error after infotainment change

Featured Replies

hello ,

After replacing Coloumbus with a Dynavin , the following error 01305 has stacked on the Canbus.

I have tried clearing but it comes up again.

ive heard maybe low voltage bat could be related to this ?  but It suggests  does not find the factory unit , so i wonder if possible to cease this error ?

Attached photo of the log.

Thanks

Ideally don't take photos of logs, plain text is clearer to read.

If you removed the factory radio for aftermarket, then the gateway is still going to try and communicate with the old radio.

You need to tell the gateway that 5F radio doesn't exist, and see if the fault clears and everything functions correctly.

thanks Varroom ,

Sorry foto was a fast step as was from another computer not connected to internet..

Yes, it is obviously the Can not finds the module 56 radio.

I'll check this out later and report if ok,

I have suspicion will remove Audio/Navi menus from Maxidot then?....

On my last 2 vehicles I have never succeeded in stopping the error, even removing the radio module from the installation list did nothing, knowing that the Chinese head unit I fitted is at the very least recieving data from the canbus and possibly sending it as well (shut down signals etc) I even tried selecting each of the other possible audio units from the menu, same result.

When I sold the last vehicle I gave the owner a fault code print out and explained the reason, it's actually 2 fault codes but can't recall the details, I gave him the original radio and said if he wanted to return to that it would no longer have the fault codes.

I understand the OP's frustration, you want a clear score card, each time it says "2 fault codes recorded" there is a second or so of doubt before the same ones come up again.

I think maybe when I removed the radio from the installation list the new one no longer powered up or perhaps the steering wheel controls for volume etc did not work.

I'm afraid I suffer from memory loss so am guessing but i know in the end I just had to live with the recurring fault codes.

Sorry 56 or 5F are some of the common locations, with VCDS and time... you could code out a lot of the features of the car.

But you MUST really have stored an original full scan of the car somewhere safe, so the coding could be restored.

Choice two is to ignore the errors in the VCDS scan log, it's just the gateway pinging the radio to see if it responds.

Ok, thank you both, yes it's not that much of concern actually is something not to look at all.

When main equipment change which is canbus comunicating, those issues can often show up.

So,  I'll move on with it..
