Deterioration of centre caps on Fabia alloys

Featured Replies

The alloy wheels plastic centre caps on my wife's 100 bhp pdi Fabia Elegance have deteriorated badly. The 'chrome' areas seem to have been invaded by a white substance and the caps now look quite disgusting. I presume that water has got between the clear plastic and the backing. A similar thing is happening to the Skoda badge on the back of the car.

The car is 2 1/2 years old so she is going to try a warranty claim. Has anyone else had a similar problem and claimed on warranty?

Any comments much appreciated.

I've had my TDI Elegance with the factory option 15" alloys for just over 2 years. The skoda badge on my centre caps have started to go a bit funny - must be a combination of road dust, brake dust, general wear and tear.

My front grille badge is bad though - I think the weather has got at it.

Someone who lives near me has a W reg Fabia and the badges on that are just the same.

Not sure about these being a warranty issue though but I believe a new grille badge is about £15.
