Fabia 1.4 16v exhaust?

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 1.4 16v 100 BHP and am looking for a new backbox. Because my car isn't a VRS theres no point getting anything too expensive. I would also like a fairly subtle exhaust. One that sounds nice (better than the original one) and isn't too fat.

I've fitted a K&N panel filter which imho makes a noticeble difference. I'm hoping that maybe fitting a new backbox will also make a little difference to the sound and performance or my little 1.4.

Right, so what do you want to know?

Recommend an exhaust.

Not sure ive seen on for a petrol Fabia off the shelf. Maybe a custom one would be in order.

I was starting to suspect that was the case. I emailed Janspeed Performance Ltd, and they said they could make me a custom one. Would that cost a lot more than an off the shelf one? Also would it be as effective?

Sorry for all the noobie questions but I'm trying to learn some things about cars :).

There would be cheaper options than Janspeed, any Powerflow place for example.

Do you have the std rear bumper?

There used to be a genuine Skoda sports back box for the early 1.4 16v, I have the accessory catalog somewhere so can probably find the part number. There were two types, one for cars with a body kit & one for ones without. I am toying with the same idea for SWMBO's car. Our dealer reckons they are still obtainable, not sure if the will fit newer cars though. No idea what it looks like, but I hope it's not got the accessory chrome tail piece on:eek: !

I have the standard rear bumper. My car is a w reg.

It would be great if you could find that catalog.

Found it! Here Goes:

Catalog listed as "UK 11/03 Edition"

"Sports Exhaust Pipe for Fabia"

1.4 FDC 410 001

1.9 FDC 410 002

1.4 FDC 410 003 (For Vehicles with the rear bumper spoiler FAA 410 004)

1.9 FDC 410 004 (For vehicles with the rear bumper spoiler FAA 410 004)

A quick check with local dealer suggested that it is still available, but would have to "get a price" He reckons the tail piece is oval.

Hope that helps

Is this a replacement backbox, or just the bit of metal which sits over the existing twin exits to make it look like the vRS backbox (and looks tacky imho :D)?

It is the actual exhaust pipe I want. Do I just go to a Skoda dealer and quote the ref number or can I get the cataloge myself somehow?

You could just quote the part number at the dealers, or if you click on the thumbnail and then save the image to you computer it should print out ok. I just reduceed the size & quality a little, but it should still be clearly readable.

As I said our dealer had no problems finding the part, just said they didn't think they had ordered many!!

Good Luck and let us know how you go on! What ever exhaust you go for post a picture so we can see how it looks!
