Karoq DAB radio

Featured Replies

Hi,

We have a 2018 Fabia and a 2019 Karoq.

The Fabia can drive around without losing the DAB signal at all (Capital radio, for example).  Our Karoq, which seems to have the same infotainment system (bigger screen though), loses DAB signal a lot when driving on exactly the same routes (Berkshire, mainly,). The radio stations and settings on both cars are identical.

The Fabia came with a longer roof aerial compared to the Karoqs 'stub' aerial.  But it seems unlikely to be the cause.  Has anyone else noticed such Karoq poor DAB reception?

I have a sneaky feeling that the DAB & FM radio use the rear heated window as an antenna and that the sharks fin is for GPS and the data connection only, but I may be wrong. There are threads on here talking about rear facing dash cams stuck on the glass knocking out reception.

I started a thread on here earlier this year with exactly the same issue.

Thanks!

We found the Skoda dealer in Salisbury had higher car prices than the Reading one, but I don't know about their services.

But if a dealer cannot find the fault, it is worrying.  I wonder if I can get a separate dab aerial plugged in to test with.  Or I could seek a car audio specialist place I guess.

There is very good car audio specialist in Winchester if you fancy a trip. Accutek

To close this topic off.  I updated the infotainment software to the 0480 release, upgrading from 0475.  This has resolved the problem, DAB radio fine now!

Think I am having the same issue - does anyone have this 0480 release?
