Vibration Noise Passenger Side

Featured Replies

Hi Briskoda-forum

After over 10 years I finally bought a 2011 VRS. But I have this super annoying vibration sound on the passenger side. Searched the forum and found many things. Have removed upper glovebox and airbag, I think it could be the loose airbad “vibrating around”.

Has anyone had this and maybe has some pointers? It is driving me crazy.

Happy holidays!

Welcome.

Sorry no idea on that in the vid.

One thing is,

In the UK were that is the drivers side a noise that annoys can be dealt with by opening the bonnet and look at the firewall were the pipes rattle.

Fasten / secure them, pad them a bit, or even spray some silicone spray at them.

*Then there is the Cattle grid noise that some have, this is from the DSG, and there are plenty threads on that.*

Thank you toot. It sounds too “low frequency” to me to be that. I’ve checked those already but will check again and use some old socks for temporary “shock dampening”. Happy holidays!

@AemsiiDid you look behind the black insulation in the engine compartment?

I am also going to check underneath the windscreen trim/wiper cover. I am unable to locate it coming from the inside, since there is not much left once the airbag is out.

Brief post Christmas update.

I was not able to remove the wipers. Too much rust after all these years and it seems you need a special VAG-tool.

I am now getting the airbag error so will have to go to a mechanic anyway.

On a normal road you can't hear it. It's only on uneven roads or speedbumps.
