Can anyone recommend a fault reader/ diagnostic scanner which will enable you to turn off the emissions warning light as well as reading the error codes?

There are two proper VAG diagnostic tools - VCDS or OBDeleven. Generic tools tend to give limited diagnostic information which can lead to confusion and replacement of unnecessary parts.

Only really want to get a light turned off even if its temporarily whilst I run the car and see if my initial problem  (disappearing coolant) has been fixed.
