Can someone point me in the direction of how to test for a break in the wiring between my switch and the rear fogs. I have a multimeter but unsure of which wires in checking
 

changed the bulbs twice. 
 

the orange light illuminates on dash but not on the switch. 
 

the rear wiper has also stopped working at the same time?

Hello have you checked all the fuses to make sure none have blown.

 Check the earth connection (brown wire) where it connects to an earth stud in the boot on the passenger side. It gets corroded and makes poor connection if water enters the boot - usually because the washer solution is too weak in winter allowing it freeze and causing the water pipe in the boot to pop off at the pipe connector.

Clean up all the connections at the body earth stud. The lights are connected there too.

My money is on a broken wire in the umbilical between the body and the boot door.

You were spot on pikpilot. Got a look at it today. Orange with rust and a broken wire. Found the leak also. Two rubber grommits at the top of the bootlid where the water runs off the roof. All sealed up again. 
 

will get a look at the wiper tomorrow
