1.4 TDI, BNV engine, 59kw altenator replacement?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, the altenator on my fabia MK2 packed in today and was trying to locate a replacement on euro car parts and their website says there's a couple. So a bit confused I messaged them and then they told me about 3 possible models for my reg (one of which isn't even an option on the website selection).  Is there anyway to tell what altenator should b on the cat (aftermarket RTX model is currently fitted but presume that could be the wrong one, as it has failed after 2 years).  Any help would be appreciated.  There is a 90amp and 120amp available on gsf.

There is actually 4 ratings in the parts catologue, 70,90,11,120A.

The BEST way to be sure is ring a dealer, give them your reg and they will tell you which / p/n required, he or she should be able to tell you the rating as well..............then you go to GSF or eurocar parts and order what you need.

PS.......often, infact 95% of the time it's the voltage regulator thats actually packed up, so if you know whats fitted now, that could be a far cheaper fix.
