Skoda Superb Rattling noise after changing the Timing belt and water pump

Featured Replies

The issue I am getting is when driving the car when oil temperature is low and driving on revs(2000-2500)  then i can hear rattling noise from the engine compartment. I got the timing belt and water pump change and this problem start to come after that only.

I took the car to the service centre again and they said they have checked the timing belt and its fine. The rattling sound only occurs when the car is cold / oil temperature is low. Once the oil temperature needle is in the middle then no rattling sound.

By the time I take the car to the mechanic, the oil temperature settles and they cant find the issue.
I was able to record the audio.

Please help me folks, i am worried.

Note- Rattling noise only happen when you drive the car only.

Agreed. But why it should stop once the engine is warmed up is odd.

My money is on the timing cover or heat shield is not fitted correctly at the back of the engine and it’s vibrating against something.

Either way I’d be getting the garage that done the work to take a look at it again.

Thanks. I have dropped the car to skoda main dealer who initially done the work. Tomorrow morning they will check and let me know.
