Auto-dipping mirror - view?

Featured Replies

Okay so I'm fully conversant in the auto dipping feature with the mirror knob in the correct position, however I have another question.

In my previous B8 Passat it was very easy to get it into a dipped position where you could see the rear wheel, which is ideal.

In the superb I only seem to be able to get an improved view of the passenger door handle, does everyone have this problem or is it just me?

I sympathise Patent, the Superb door mirrors are very poor for rear wheel area sighting - I wish I’d had the presence of mind to check on my test drive before ordering.

I paid for area view too and that is equally poor.

It's adjustable, at least on the memory seat models

Definitely adjustable on mine.

I can adjust it, the mirror moves but at all angles the handle seems to block the view of the wheel. Has anyone had any better success?

@Berisford agree on area view being a bit of a let down, however the side cameras are good for helping you avoid hitting kerbs when parallel parking

There's your answer them; some <censored> designer has put a a door handle between the mirror and the rear axle line.

The wheels on the superb are about an inch deep in the wheel arch compared to many other manufacturers.

That could also be the reason you can’t see the wheel?

I can see the rear wheel when I’m reversing, but in my case, having the drivers seat in a certain position is also critical to enable this too.
