Amundsen cold/warm start up

Does anyone understand the logic behind why Amundsen performs a cold or warm start?

From new, mine nearly always performs a cold start with the Skoda logo splash screen and a frustratingly long wait for Android Auto to start up. However, it occassionally does a warm start and AA is available immediately. Weirdly, it seems that the longer I leave the car, the more likely it is to do a warm start, I'd expect the opposite! Whether it's on radio/media/phone/nav or app when switched off at the end of the previous journey doesn't seem to make any difference.
