can some-one shed some light on this for me please......

octavia 11,...2.0 tdi,PD,DSG........2005.....

what engine oil goes in these engines...the service interval is for long drain.

have looked at shell helix...3 different types,have looked at castrol slx11 and

edge 5-30. has to meet vw506 01.

am utterly confused by all the designations,reading the owners manual if you

put in the wrong oil you have to change your service interval.......bring back

duchams 20/50

VW 504 & 507 specifications have replaced all of the previous oil specifications for most VW engines.

I emailed Opieoils, told them my mileage, 8000 a year, and that I'm on fixed servicing for 2.0 petrol FSI and they reckoned I only need 5w-40. What do you think?

Sounds about right, inspection service is every 2 years on the Octy 2 aswell.
