VRS with broken headlamp!

Featured Replies

I noticed yesterday when cleaning my VRS that one of the headlamps wobbled! On closer inspection it appears that the headlamps are held in place with two plastic mounts. One of these mounts is completly broken and the other is on its way out. Luckily it's all being sorted out under warranty but I was wondering if this is a common problem? The plastic mounts that hold the lamps in place look very flimsy!

i've crashed mine and never broke the headlamp mounts , bent the bonnet , smashed the grill , damaged the bumper and wrote off a K reg FORD MONDEO , so i wouldn't say they were flimsy IMHO

I wouldnt expect them to break particularly, doubt they need to hold much weight too.

What's your "closing the bonnet" technique?

Dropping it from too high might do something to them but seems a little unlikely unless the bonnet bump stops have been badly adjusted or are missing.

The wife had a slight knock in her previous Fabia and broke one of the mounts.

Could be that some othe car has knocked yours in a car park etc.

Does sound like someone has maybe reversed into your car. The bumpers flex and pop out again leaving no trace but the headlamps break.

If this becomes apparent when they are doing the job you may get the bill.
