Problems

Featured Replies

Just wondering if any one can help? I have two problems with my Felicia 1.3 1998, the airbag light stays on all the time, this worries me slightly just incise it opens on me, also I had an ignition problem which is now fixed, but my indicators are no longer self cancelling? Any ideas or solutions on how to solve these problems would be greatly received.

Were the problems with the airbag and indicators present before the ignition was fixed?

No, The indicators started when the had to replace the ignition, the air bag light was working before this and after for about a week then the light started staying on.

If the airbag and surrounding trim, etc had to be removed for the ignition replacement, then it sounds like it all hasn't been put back together properly.

The airbag may just be a loose connection. There are two captivated caphead screws on the back of the steering wheel which releases the airbag assembly. There is a lead and plug connection behind it.

Not sure about the indicator correction but if this was a paid job through a garage can you take it back to them to rectify?

They may have tried the new ignition (steering lock was it?) with the airbag disconnected where it plugs in under the steering column cowl, and not erased the fault code generated.

My dad did the work on the car, basicly the key wouldn't go into the ignition, the steering lock was on so we had to brake the steering lock off, and put in a new barrell, one of the old keys is now in the emboliser so that the car still starts, and i have two keys one for the doors, and one for the ignition. Had the pannel under the steering wheel off and all the wires look attached and seem firm enough so thier not going to fall out or be pushed in any further.
