06 Stuttering: Would a Tunit box Fix it?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has one fitted to a 06 BLT engine code VRS.

If so does it still stutter or not?

Has anyone got any views on this little box of tricks?

It might fix it but it might also invalidate your warranty should they realise you've had it fitted.

In another thread Lummox (a Tech) was saying that anything can be found. The only way they'll not find it is if it wasn't there in the first place!

If it was me (and it probably will be in 3 weeks when I get my vRS) I would take it to the dealer, register your problem/complaint and then get them to take a VAGCOM reading and send the codes onto Skoda UK.

From what I have read this is what Skoda UK are telling owners to do.

Then, at some point in the future they may or may not release a fix. In the meantime you 'may or may not' decide you can either live with this problem and either 1) await a fix that may never come or 2) reject the car.

Personally I am going to drive mine about for a couple of weeks and see how I go with it, I am just particularly concerned as my (UK) commute is very stop-start and my driving style is very light on the right pedal; I hear the problem is more noticeable the gentler your right foot is.

If the problem is a misfire-type problem, then the Tunit may well help as it will increase the amount of fuel available in the engine. However, as said above, if it logs any faults (and you don't have VAG-COM to clear them) then your dealer may well invalidate your warranty :D
