Power steering feels wonky after battery failed. Fault code 02546 / 00778

Featured Replies

Fan belt broke on a long journey (didn't realise at time), and battery drained bringing on all kinds of lights and bleeps. After got belt fixed Power Steering light has come on and steering feels, well, weird. Alot harder and uneven. I plugged in fault code reader and got code "02546 - Steering Limit Stop - no or incorrect basic steering adaption    and also  00778 Steering angle sensor."

I just picked up an A30M xTOOL scanner which is blowing my head of as an absolute novice DIYer. Can I use it to do some calibration to bring the steering back online?

Thanks

With engine running and a fully charged known to be good battery, try turning the wheels from full left to full right a couple of times to see if it resets its knowledge of where the stops are.
